Asbury´s Children´s Ministry actively engages children in a full program of mission oriented activities that go beyond Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Activities include:
Kids in 1st-5th grade experience Bible stories in an exciting way. Each week they rotate between computers, art, drama, games and movies with popcorn. Classes meet upstairs in the West Hall on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am.
An after school program for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade that meets on Wednesdays 2:00-5:00 pm. It includes story time, library visits, crafts, cooking, snacks, mission activities, and children's choir.
In addition to Vacation Bible School, activities include Popcorn and Movie each Wednesday 1:30-3:30 pm in June and July.
Offered during our Contemporary services on Saturday night and Sunday morning at 11:00. Kids may leave the worship service during the sermon for Bible related activities. The class meets downstairs in the West Hall.
Asbury invites kids to participate in the traditional worship services by being an Acolyte. Acolytes bring the light of Christ into the Sanctuary and light the altar candles and carry the light back out at the end of the service symbolizing taking the light of Christ out into the world. The acolytes also assist the pastor at the offering, communion and baptism. All children in 3rd grade through 8th grade may participate.
Children of all ages are invited to come up during the tradicional worship service for a time with the pastor.
We provide notebooks during the worship services with activities for kids. They are located at the back of the Traditional and Acts 2 Sanctuaries, or ask an usher or greeeter for assistance.
