Meet Our Staff ...

Asbury has a talented and professional staff contributing to it's success:

Reverend Steve Davis

Reverend Steve Davis, Senior Pastor

Steve Davis, raised in El Paso, TX, came to faith and ministry through Western Hills UMC. Steve trusted Christ as Friend, Lord and Savior and received his call to ordained ministry at Sacramento Methodist Assembly the summer before his 8TH grade year. Steve received his Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Psychology from McMurry College, and his Master of Divinity from Emory University, Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. He gave his first sermon when just 16 and became a student-local pastor when he was 19. While loving the traditional United Methodist worship liturgy, Steve also enjoys the Wesleyan passion of leading new contemporary worship expressions. Steve was ordained a Deacon in 1989 and Elder in 1991 in the New Mexico Conference. He served First UMC – ABQ as the Associate Minister from 1990-1993; First UMC, Melrose / House UMC from 1993-1996; Peralta Memorial UMC from 1996-2000. He became a member of the North Texas Conference in June 2000, serving Trinity UMC – Denton from 2000-2003; and Wesley UMC – Sulphur Springs from 2003 to the present. Steve’s great passions in the Church are Evangelism, Discipleship and Communications. Steve is married to Kimberly (Kim) Lucas, daughter of Chuck and Linda Lucas. They have four children, Erin, Jacob, Meagan, and Jonathan “Jon”, as well as a miniature dachshund Noel and a basset hound Reilly.
